¡Che Boludo!

Have you ever seen to Canada? have you ever seen to Canada on ...?! Its uncertain who actually started it, but one of us came up with the challenge to walk from the hostel to the bus station that would take us to Bariloche. view from the roof of the hostel in Buenos Aires
the REAL fun bus
this is what we watched for about 20 hours of the bus ride...there were cows too
This would have been pleasant had it not been a 3 mile walk in the rain with awkwardly packed haulbags on our backs. Eventually we did make it to the bus station and on to the correct bus. 22 hours later we stumbled off of it and into the town of Bariloche. A place that we can only think of describing as Canada...but much cooler. It has a small ski town feel while also being both at the edge of the mountain and a huge lake. our first views of Bariloche!

We entered town with a ravenous apettite...the meals on the bus are in such small portions, we needed something American Sized! Luckily we quickly befriended a Brazilian couple at the bus stop who pointed us in the direction of the Backpackers Hostel, where we a homemade meal of ravioli and veggies filled us up for about 2.50 each. This turned out to be a great choice as the employeess and fellow travelers here are super friendly, willing to listen to and aid our terrible spanish. After refueling we set out to wander the town and quickly realized that there are endless activities here. Who knows...we could get stuck here for the whole trip. The night ended with lots of food and wine with all of the people staying in the hostel. Stories were traded and new friends were made. Heck, we even spoke a little spanish...apparently it was pretty funny. Oh yea and the cheapest wine here is called Termidor, it costs about a dollar for a liter and comes in a small travel friendly box. I predict much more of it in the near future.

  1. Who is that strange man in the background of Jake's photos, and is that a string belt that he's sporting? ¿qué carajo?
